SelectUSA Investment Summit Wraps up in Washington with Participation of Morocco

15 Jun 2019

Washington - Delegations from several countries, including Morocco, took part this week in the 2019 SelectUSA Investment Summit, the highest-profile event dedicated to promoting foreign direct investment in the United States.

A large Moroccan delegation that included several business leaders representing various economic areas took part in the event, which was an opportunity for the delegation to connect with U.S. economic development organizations to facilitate business investment.

On Wednesday, executives of 66 foreign companies joined U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross and Advisor to the President Ivanka Trump to sign the “Pledge to America’s Workers,” committing to provide more than 930,000 training and apprenticeship opportunities in the United States.

The Pledge is a commitment to expand programs that educate, train, and reskill workers from high school to near retirement.

The annual Investment Summit was held on June 10-12. Participants from the previous five Summits have announced more than $103.6 billion in greenfield investment projects in the United States within five years of attending. These projects directly support more than 167,000 U.S. jobs.
