    Morocco’s COVID Figures in Free Fall As Vaccination Continues

    As Morocco launches a campaign to administer a third vaccine dose to residents, daily COVID-19 cases are on the decline.

    Rabat - The Moroccan health ministry reported a total of 386 new cases of COVID-19 infections and 638 recoveries in the last 24 hours.

    The number of individuals having received their first vaccine dose reached 23,031,340, while the number of fully vaccinated people (with two doses) now stands at 20,117,823.

    Morocco started administering a third vaccine dose on Monday this week, and a total of 181,700 individuals have received their “booster” shot as of today.

    The number of declared positive cases since the outbreak of the pandemic is now at 939,178, while the recovery remains positive at 97.7% with 917,807 having recovered from COVID since the virus first hit Morocco in March 2020.

    The ministry recorded 14 COVID-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing Morocco’s total number of COVID fatalities to 14,457 but keeping the fatality rate low at 1.5%.

    10,362 tests were performed since last night, with a positivity rate of 3.99%.

    Active cases are estimated to be 6,923 with 630 critical cases and 20 patients under intubation.

    The Rabat Sale Kenitra region has once again recorded the largest number of daily infections, with 141 positive cases, and 3 deaths in the last 24 hours.

    Following is the Casablanca-Settat region, where 138 new cases and 8 deaths were reported today.
